Program Overview

The Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya Young Innovators Challenge is a school-based innovation program designed to identify and nurture creative, practical, and low-cost solutions from students. The program encourages schoolchildren to identify real-world problems and propose innovative solutions through a structured idea competition model.

How It Works

The program follows a structured pathway to help students develop their ideas and showcase them at different levels.

School-Level Submission

  • Each participating school will conduct its internal competition
  • Students will submit their innovative ideas to their school's committee
  • Best ideas will be shortlisted for the next level
  • Winners from the district stage will be guided with mentorship and have the opportunity to develop their ideas further

Mentoring & Prototype Development

  • Selected ideas will be mentored by teachers, engineers, and innovators
  • Mentorship will help students refine concepts into prototypes or concept models
  • Students will receive support for prototype development and guidance to present their ideas

Eligibility

  • Core Group: Students from Classes 1 to 10
  • Special Category: Optional track for Classes 11 and 12 science students
  • Team Participation: Individual or team of up to 2 students
  • Language: English, Kannada, or any Indian language
